CLEE HILLS HIKE

Just after Christmas and New Year, a group of four of us Explorer Scouts decided to do some walking in preparation for a hike over The Long Mynd in April - little did we know that we would be doing something much harder than that particular excursion much closer to that time!

Before walking over the Clee Hills, we did three much smaller walks as practice: The Canal to Whittington, Trimpley and Upper Arley and finally the Clent Hills.

The Clee Hills are the two highest hills in Shropshire and Worcestershire. The Brown Clee is the highest of the two, at 546m, and The Titterstone Clee is 533m high. I must say that Titterstone felt much taller the day we walked the hills as it was the second hill we climbed and we were getting very tired by this point!

PRACTICE HIKE

This took place as planned on Sunday 6th April. The route was from Abberley through Heightington and back to Bewdley. The route was very hilly and perfect as practice for what is looming next weekend!

LONG MYND - TAKE II

Well after an exhausting weekend, we have all the photo's and stories to make a great website - so watch out for it coming this week!

On the general side of things - everyone was fine and I know the leaders had a good weekend - as for the rest of us - I'm not so sure!

Website to come this week!
